Posting on Friday this week, because I will be at BAPHL 7 tomorrow. Been a while since I tried a Some Assembly Required. Hope you enjoy it!

Sorry I'm late again; as I mentioned before I was at DASH this past weekend, and between that and travel I wasn't able to get this puzzle formatted until now. Another Some Assembly Required with a gimmick, but I prefer this one to "Three Coins in the Fountain." Acknowledgements to Patrick Berry for the puzzle type.

At last, another Some Assembly Required. Although this one has a higher word count than SAR #6 (29 Pieces versus 27), I think there are fewer obscurities and otherwise questionable entries. More inflected entries than I'd prefer, though.

As promised earlier this week, here is another Some Assembly Required. This time, I have gotten down to 27 Pieces while managing to stick with 2 entries running across each row, so I'm pretty happy. This puzzle was written for a party I hosted yesterday, and as such there are a few quasi-thematic entries lurking in the grid. Furthermore, I would like to thank the solvers at the party, who caught a couple of mistakes in the puzzle. Enjoy!

In my relentless assault on my word count, I have gotten the number of pieces down to 27, though again I have three entries spanning the final row. This time I think I was more aggressive with my corners, pushing for six-letter words as "filler" instead of settling for five. And coming this weekend will be another Some Assembly Required, as well as a birthday extravaganza. Stay tuned!

Some Assembly Required #4

Variety grid puzzle. Day 27 of ToPuWriMo. Acknowledgements to Patrick Berry.

Today I decided to drag myself out of my lull by attempting another Some Assembly Required, which is one of the hardest puzzle types for me to construct. I am pleased to report that I have gotten my Piece count down to 28, for an average of 7 letters per piece. To accomplish this, I was rather aggressive with my gridding at the outset, starting with #27 as a seed and always looking for places to stretch my answers by another letter or two.

I've been sitting on this puzzle for over a week, so I'm glad I can finally bring it to light. In light of this discussion, I wanted to get my word count down. At first I thought I had 28 pieces, for an average word length of 7 letters per piece, but it turns out I miscounted.

For Day 5 of ToPuWriMo, I've got a Some Assembly Required puzzle with a twist. As far as twists go, it's pretty tame: three of the Pieces are not given, and it is up to you to find them. Acknowledgements to Patrick Berry.

I'm back from my camping trip, so my posting schedule should be back to normal. I wrote one and a half puzzles while I was out camping, but I still have to format them and such. You should be seeing one of them tomorrow.

Some Assembly Required is like a cross between a traditional crossword and a jigsaw puzzle. Two answers go across each row, and another set of answers forms pieces that can be put together to make up the grid. It is up to you to figure out where the pieces go, however. I tried to have this done last night, but the last few rows eluded me until this afternoon. Good luck!
