I thought it was a good fill; the center certainly fits together quite nicely. I think parallelism in clues is often a good thing, and I liked that the two "Title role for..." clues were consecutive.
And I like the shape--nerdy, but neat. (And not an immediate giveaway, in spite of 1A, for me.) Once upon a time, diagramlesses all seemed to have interesting or thematic shapes; the ones that have run recently as second-Sunday puzzles in the NYTimes seem just to be crosswords that they left out the grids for. So I definitely appreciate this all the more for its grid.
